Christian Community is Missional

Christian community ought to be missional.  This is because God is a missional God (Check out "The Biblical Perspective" [Section 1] in Perspectives).  God is on a mission.  He has been on a mission throughout history--to redeem humanity--to bring humanity back into right relationship with Himself.  The story of the Bible is ultimately a recording of God's redemptive dealings with humanity.

God is on a mission and He invites us to be part of that mission.  It started with Abram (Gen. 12:2-3), was extended to the nation of Israel (Exod. 19:5-6), and is now what drives the church (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).  God invites us to participate with Him in the redemption of the world.

Are you participating in the mission of God?
Amazing things happen when Jesus communities participate in the mission of God.  They become almost instantly contagious (more on this to come).  For a recent story about missional community check out the comments under my first post.  My friend Bill shares a great story about participating in the mission of God.
