Happy New Year!

I hope that you were able to usher in the New Year with people you enjoy and love. Our family spent the evening with several other people in our home group. We ate lots of snacks, shared lots of stories, and played lots of games. We had a total blast!

Somewhere between the snacks and stories I began to think about how much has happened in the past ten years. Ten years ago I was just a junior in high school. My biggest dream at the time was to play college hockey. Ten years ago I did not have a college degree or a master's degree. I was able to do both in biblical studies & theology. Ten years ago I did not have a wife or kids. I have now been married to my incredible wife for 4.5 years and we just celebrated the birth of our first child. Ten years ago I was working at Dominos Pizza. I am now a pastor that leads in the area of community life and development. Can you believe how much has happened in just ten years? Ten years ago everybody was freaking about Y2K as we approached the New Millennium. That was ten years ago! It seems like just yesterday.

And while so much has happened in just ten years, I am reminded that time doesn't slow down. It just keeps on ticking right into the future. And what will happen tomorrow largely depends on what we do with the ticks of today. Where will I be ten years from now? Where will you be ten years from now?

Life is precious.
As we start a new year and a new decade...let's make each tick count.

Grow in Christ and build the kingdom!
